Appointing Xavier Desaulles as the CEO of APAC Markets and Jean-Charles Fortoul, as the CEO of APAC Resorts
Mumbai, 13 June 2019 – Club Med, the leader in premium all-inclusive holidays, has announced the evolution of their Asia Pacific (APAC) organisation into two specialised Business Units – APAC Markets and APAC Resorts. As of 1 July 2019, the new APAC Regional Organisation includes Greater China, Japan, Korea, India, South East Asia and the Pacific. This reorganization allows Club Med to put the best teams closer to the guests and deliver better customer experience.
“Club Med is in a growth acceleration phase with the openings of three to five resorts per year,” said Henri Giscard d’Estaing, President of Club Med. “This significant moment in our development requires us to focus on our growth drivers – sales and marketing to drive brand preference amongst consumers, and to accelerate the opening of new resorts and strengthen the in-resort guest experience across APAC. With this new strategy, we are pleased to share our new roles for our Comité de Direction Générale (CDG)”
“For the past 70 years, Club Med has had strong global recognition as the vacation destination for experience seekers. We have been pioneers in hospitality and in the current consolidation environment of the industry, we remain the preferred niche player, a trend setter and the undisputed leader when it comes to cornering the family and mountain vacation markets. This reorganisation will take us further and I am proud to be a part of this milestone.” said Xavier Desaulles.
“It is an exciting time for Club Med with the aggressive expansion growth of our resorts across the world,” said Jean-Charles Fortoul. “In the months to come, we aim to develop strong product offerings by developing the right capacity across APAC destinations, by delivering the best in-resort experience throughout our resort portfolio.” Club Med’s resort portfolio includes Club Med Premium All-Inclusive, Club Med Joyview and Club Med Exclusive Collection resorts.
Gino Andreetta, who is currently the CEO of Greater China will move to Lyon, France as of September 2019 to lead the Europe, Africa and France (EAF) Resorts as CEO. Since 2015, Gino has successfully developed Club Med’s sales and operations in the region, including opening four new resorts in Greater China.
