NGR , No Gender Required is an initiative taken to provide a helpline for abuse victims of all genders so that matters can be taken in their own hands with little help from experts. Says, Sanjana Abraham the force behind this initiative,’ I am a 21 year old with the mind and heart of an idealistic youth. The idea occurred to me when the daughter of my house help, was a victim of domestic abuse. The simple task of collecting all the required information online and passing them on to her, provided me with the incentive of creating an organization that ran on just doing this’
Sanjana Abraham, a budding artist held an exhibition of her art to raise awareness and funds for NGR, on Friday 14th June 2019, to an enthusiastic response where she and her enthusiastic volunteers managed to sell paintings, photographs, sustainable home products, cupcakes by Harsha Gupta and live music by Atharva Phadke, to a steady stream of art enthusiasts, students, friends and partners.
Proposed to be running on funds from her art exhibitions and people donating the money they would use for a pack of cigarettes, NGR is supported by group of volunteers aiming for an idealistic world. Though the rights and constitutional amendments have been provided, our country hasn’t yet reached the level of sustainability where the people can enjoy the benefits written down in our constitution. With all this talk about gender equality in Indian society there are some laws in the constitution that are unfair towards the male and third gender

Sexuality doesn’t come into play here and “neutral opinions, law advice and information on how to take the next step with all the given information on where to go and what to do next shall be provided. No searching for places to help you , just one point where all the information to protect your rights and allow you the freedom of living an abuse free life.
