* RENFE does not operate direct services between MAD/BCN airports and the above
regional points in Spain and therefore, passengers must transfer trains at the train stations
in downtown. The documents attached here explains how passengers should connect
between the respective airports and the downtown stations.
Ø EK passengers booked/ticketed to travel on RENFE must complete online check-in via
website http://www.accesrail.com/checkin/ prior to boarding the trains. Check-in shall
be done by using, either the name, PNR locator or e-ticket number. Once completed, the
check-in receipt/ticket must be printed and presented to the conductor on board the trains.
Ø Ticketing Time Limits (TTL) on RENFE:

between 21 days and 7 days before departure
3 days after booking date
between 7 days and 1 day before departure

NoteTickets cancelled within 7 days of departure shall incur a penalty of 20% of the
agreed  train fare. No-show passengers will incur a penalty of 100% of the agreed fare.

Ø Child discounts permitted. Infants travelling without a seat shall not be charged.
Ø In case of disruptions to the EK inbound flight resulting in a misconnection of the train
already booked, the passenger shall contact the EK ground staff on arrival in MAD/BCN
and obtain a written confirmation of the delay which should be presented at the RENFE
office at the rail station for transportation on the next available train (EK staff at MAD/BCN
airports will be provided with the  necessary documentation for this). On the other hand, if
the inbound train is delayed which may cause a misconnection of the outbound EK flight,
the passenger shall contact the RENFE office at the rail station and RENFE will either
re-book the passenger onto an alternative train or arrange for road transportation at its
own cost to ensure that the passenger reaches the airport on time.
Ø RENFE will honour EK baggage allowances on its trains. However, bags will not be through
checked by RENFE onto EK or vice versa and the passengers are responsible for carriage
of their bags both onto and off the train.
