New Delhi 16 November 2019: Dainik Jagran and Nielsen Bookscan announced the Hindi Best Seller list of July-September quarter 2019 at Dainik Jagran's ‘Sanidhya’ organized in Patna Book Fair. The Hindi Bestseller List was announced by writers Ganga Prasad Vimal ,Ram Bachan Roy, Poet Leeladhar Jagudi, poet and theatre personality Premlata Mishra and by Manoj Jha , resident editor Dainik Jagran . The bestseller list was released in four categories Fiction, Non-Fiction, Translation and Poetry.
Nilotpal Mrinal's first novel in the fiction category Dark Horse:Ek Ankohi Dastan , which depicts the story of the life and struggle of the students who are preparing for civil services, managed to make it to the top. Writer Satya Vyas's 'Banaras Talkies', 'Chaurasi' and “Dilli Darbaar” once again featured in the top 10. Renowned writer Surender Mohan Pathak ‘s “Jaa Ke Bairi Sanmukh Jeevay” and “Qahar” managed to grab positions in the fiction list.
In the non-fiction category, renowned writer Surender Mohan Pathak’s autobiography part 2 Hum Nahi Change... Bura Na koy” topped the list. His part 1 autobiography “Na Bairi Na Koi Begana” also made it to the top 10 list. The story of Surendra Mohan Pathak from his childhood to college days is depicted in the book “Na Bairi Na Koi Begana”. The story of his, youth, struggle and other aspects of his life is portrayed in “Hum Nahi Change... Bura Na koy”. Apart from this Ashok Kumar Pandey's 'Kashmirnama' ,Manav Kaul “Tumhare Baare Mein” , Anirban Ganguly and Shiwanand Dwivedi’s book Amit Shah Aur Bhajapa Ki Yatra ' made it to the top 10.
In the translation category, former President APJ Abdul Kalam's autobiography 'Meri Jeevan Yatra’ topped this list. The Translation category was dominated by the books of authors Chetan Bhagat and Amish Tripathi . Chetan Bhagat’s 'The Girl in Room 105 - An Unlove Story' and 'One Indian Girl', Amish Tripathi’s Sita - Warrior of Mithila and “Ikshvaku Ke Vanshaj” were among the top 10. Apart from this, writer Arundhati Roy 'Ek Tha Doctor Ek Tha Sant', former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav’s Gopalganj to Raisina Road, were also in the top 10 in the translation category.
The poetry category was dominated by the poetic collections of Indian Urdu poet and Hindi film lyricist Rahat Indori, Gulzar, Javed Akhtar, and Piyush Mishra.
