At GoAir, Women Fly High & Smart

India, 9 March 2020: Commemorating the International Women’s Day 2020, Asia’s most trusted, punctual and India’s fastest growing GoAir took to the skies on 8th March with an all women crew, both in the cockpit as well as cabin. With elan and oomph, Captain Ms. Nupur Gupta and First Officer Ms. Priyanka Rajput took off from Delhi and cruised the ship to newer heights, giving the proverbial wings to their dreams when they navigated the Airbus A320 through a bright and sunny Saturday and landed in Mumbai.
At 30,000+ altitude, Senior Cabin Crew Ms. Ruchika Kandpal and her colleagues Ms. Aishwarya Dhole, Ms. Nusrat Khan and Ms. Manisha Bhadouriya served 162 adults and 3 infants on board. On behalf of the 35% women employees at GoAir, the cabin crew expressed gratitude to all the passengers and wished them ‘Happy Women’s Day’.
As of 2019, India stood tall with the highest proportion of female commercial pilots at 12.4%, as compared to other countries and the percentage of women across other jobs in aviation are also moving leaps and bounds. Keeping pace, GoAir recently announced a unique referral program - 'Go Get Her', where employees are encouraged to refer women for various job positions across pilots, cabin crew, technicians, basic office or ground staff. An initiative conceived by Ms. Miranda Mills, Chief Operating Officer at GoAir. GoAir strongly believes that 'Gender does not define one's abilities on the job', which is why they have a beautifully strong representation of 50% women at the top management.
The following was observed on International Women’s Day:
·       We will challenge gender stereotypes and bias
·       We will maintain gender equal mindset
·       We will help forge a gender equal world
·       Will celebrate women’s achievements
