THE 7th EDITION OF TRENDS EXCELLENCE AWARDS FOR ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN HONOURS CREATIVE EXCELLENCE IN THE INDUSTRY

Mumbai, 9th March 2019: Recognizing the very best in Indian architecture, design and the arts, the seventh edition of the Trends Excellence Awards for Architecture & Design was hosted with much fanfare at Dome, NSCI, Worli in Mumbai. Incepted by Home & Design TRENDS magazine, the awards honoured those who have exemplified high levels of creativity, originality and inspiring practices in the field of Indian architecture, interiors and design. This year, the awards were presented by Classic Marble Company, with Plusch as partner. Acknowledging their admirable innovations, the awards presented 12 exemplary winners with India’s first 3D printed trophy and six winners with a specially crafted marble trophy from Classic Marble Company.
Honouring the work of Indian architects, interior designers and industry-related professionals, the annual awards property garnered more than 3500 entries across five main categories —Architecture, Interior Design, Best Practice of the Year, Product Design and Visual Design. Each one of these featured sub-categories that saw a total of 73 nominations waiting with bated breath to see if they would take home the prestigious trophy.
Further adding to the credibility of the awards was the expert jury. This stellar group of extraordinary individuals who have shaped the Indian architecture and design sector, comprised architects Alan Abraham, Zarir Mullan, Seema Puri, Nandini Somaya Sampat, Shabnam Gupta and Samuel Barclay along with Ronitaa R. Italia — Editor in Chief of Home & Design TRENDS magazine.
Novel and out-of-the box ideas, strategies and thinking in the field of architecture and design formed the core judging criteria for entries received this year.
