Dusaan, an Indian e-commerce platform specializing in home decor, has expanded its product category to include over 300 high-quality furniture items. With this strategic expansion, the online platform launches its furniture category, increasing its active departments to 10. Through this new launch, Dusaan aims to tap into its existing customer base, especially those building or revamping their homes in tier-I and tier-II cities. The company expects the expansion to advance its goal of bringing a home together and becoming the one-stop shop for all home needs while capturing a significant market footing in India’s USD 22.92 billion home furniture market. With a projection of 5X growth, the e-commerce platform aims to expand its new furniture category by December 2024.

Dusaan’s latest furniture collection from more than 20 vetted Indian brands features multiple items, including desks, beds, tables, racks and table trolleys, chairs, poufs and stools, TV units, shelves, and storage units, which completes the home. Along with the classic furniture items, accent and statement furniture pieces ranging from Rs. 5,000-40,000 have also been included to cater to the young demographic. The furniture brands prioritize eco-conscious designs and durable materials like sustainable wood, macrame, jute, and rattan, enabling Dusaan to cater to the growing demand for sustainable and eco-friendly home furnishings in India. It has conducted a series of manufacturing and material checks before making the products available on the platform. The new furniture category is already live on Dusaan’s platform, and the company is in the process of onboarding international furniture brands to offer more choices to its customers
Dusaan has over 400 brands, with more than 50 international brands, and plans to add more categories that are essential to the home to capitalize on the growth of the home decor market segment, which is expected to grow at a CAGR of 8.78% between 2024 and 2029. The online platform is also exploring collaborations with indigenous and international brands, especially women-owned and eco-friendly labels, to diversify its product offerings
