Recently, the centre has come up with a proposal to widen the copyright framework and bring all forms of broadcasters under its ambit.

Mr. Prashan Agarwal, CEO, Gaana said, "Simplifying the copyright framework such that it gives clarity that all broadcasters including internet broadcasters can avail the protection of the law is a step in the right direction as it will encourage greater collaboration between the players in the supply chain of country’s burgeoning internet music industry. Greater access to licensed content and more seamless dispute resolution will eventually open new avenues for localized content production while offering a platform for young and upcoming talent to showcase their talent and reach hundreds of millions of potential fans.”
