Go Green … Breathe Fresh

Mumbai, June 04, 2019: On the occasion of World Environment Day, Godrej Industries Ltd. undertook key initiatives to further underline their commitment towards contributing to the betterment of the society and environment.
With the theme of this year’s World Environment Day being Air Pollution, Godrej Group decided to tackle this concern by planting 3000 saplings across all their locations worldwide. Urging the suppliers and partners to join this drive, the plantation drive held in Mumbai witnessed about 80 volunteers planting close to 100 saplings near Godrej One. Business leaders Pirojsha Godrej and Burjis Godrej led the drive along with other leaders Nitin Nabar, , Vivek Gambhir, Mohit Malhotra and Atul Prakash
Godrej has also hosted a street play at its premise to raise awareness on plastic waste and deter the use of single-use plastic.
Dr. Vikas Goswami, Head Sustainability, Good & Green, Godrej Industries Limited and Associate Companies (GILAC) said, “Sustainability and meaningful impact are at the core of the group’s approach to CSR. The group is committed to driving sustainability programs as we believe that business growth is tied with not just financial sustainability, but also with social and environmental sustainability.”
About Good & Green
At Godrej our sustainability strategy, Good & Green, is driven by the desire to help create a more inclusive and greener India. Launched in 2011 as one of our four key imperatives for 2020, Good & Green is based on shared value, a principle that aligns business competitiveness and growth with social and environmental impact. By 2020, we aspire to create a more employable Indian workforce, build a greener India, and innovate for ‘good’ and ‘green’ products. ‘Good’ products are designed to address a critical social issue (e.g. healthcare and sanitation) for consumers at the base of the income pyramid. ‘Green’ products are those that are environmentally sustainable.
