Special Meal Update

We would like to reiterate and update you on special meals offered on board Emirates flights.Emirates offers a selection of meals to suit ,special medical, dietary, and religious requirements.
It is important that the passenger advises us know about any allergies or meal requirements.
There may be instances where the passengers may not be aware of the differences with regards to certain meals. Hence, we would like to highlight a few common special meals on-board that we offer.
Please find below the description of some of the common special meals for your ready reference.
Hindu Meal (HNML)
This meal is available for members of the Hindu community who are not strictly
vegetarian and eat meat, fish, eggs,and dairy products.
It contains one or more of these ingredients :lamb, chicken, fish, eggs, milk, and dairy products.The food is prepared according to Hindu customs, respecting Hindu dietary practices and beliefs.( does NOT contain beef )

Asian Vegetarian Meal (AVML)

This meal is available for vegetarian passengers. It is usually aromatic and spicy, and incorporates flavours from the Indian sub -continent. It contains one or more of these ingredients: all types of vegetables, fresh fruit and milk products.
( does NOT contain any type of meat, fish or eggs )
Child Meal (CHML)
This meal may be ordered for children between the ages of 2 and 12 years.                 
It is a regular NON VEG meal. It contains one or more of these ingredients: chicken, fish, fries, pasta, chocolate, crisps, crackers, milk and dairy products, and fruit and fruit juices.     does NOT contain beef )  
A vegetarian child meal needs to be advised in the PNR in SPML format.
There are 2 types of Veg Child meal.                                     
  • Veg CHML – Western style veg.
  • Asian Veg CHML- Indian style prepared veg meal  
FOOD ALLERGY
Nut-free special meals are not available. Nuts are served on all Emirates flights, either as a meal ingredient or as an accompaniment to drinks. Other customers may bring food on board containing nuts, and traces of nut residue oils could be passed onto other surfaces of the aircraft like seats, as well as via the air conditioning system. Emirates does not make any announcement on board about nut-free meals.
Customers with nut allergy or any other severe food allergies should be requested to carry their own meal. Emirates can in no way guarantee an allergen free environment or food and there is a risk that the passenger could be exposed to residue in the interior of the aircraft/ seat and carpet material or other passengers. Suggest passenger supplied own meal for flight as catering are also unable to guarantee allergen free catering on board.
Meals requests will be auto confirmed on EK flights up to 24 hours before departure.
Any requests within 24 hours of departure( including all departures Ex-DXB ) will remain on PN status and not be confirmed.
Please note : Due to short flying times on some flights, certain special meals may be
unavailable in Economy Class.However, all meals served on Emirates flights are Halal.
