Technology is disrupting every industry including MSME and it is time that MSME adapt to the changes to become more efficient, stated Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways and MSME, Shri Nitin Gadkari while inaugurating a one-day national conference on ‘Opportunities in Logistics, Transportation and MSME Sector’ at Symbiosis Skills and Open University (SSOU) in Pune today. The conference has been organized in collaboration with Logistics Skill Council (LSC) of India Shri Nitin Gadkari also inaugurated the J P Research Centre of Excellence for Road Safety And Accident Research. This Centre will focus on reducing fatalities in road accidents.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister further said, India needs skilled manpower in large numbers in the logistics, transport and MSME sectors. These sectors are extremely important to achieve the target of $5 trillion economy, he added. He also emphasized the need for skill based education in India and how it can fuel the economic development. He lauded the efforts taken by Symbiosis Skills University in launching many useful skill based degree programs for students.
The conference was presided over by Chancellor of SSOU, Padma Bhushan Dr. S.B. Mujumdar. Director General (MCCIA), Shri. Prashant Girbane, Additional Secretary & DC (MSME) Shri. Ram Mohan Mishra, , President (MCCIA) Shri. Pradeep Bhargava, Chairman (RGSTC) Dr. Anil Kakodkar, and Head Private Sector Development (GIZ), Noor Naqschbandi were present among the dignitaries who attended the conference.
