Mrs Ritu Chhabria of Mukul Madhav Foundation in conversation with Lord Jeffrey Archer highlights her work in the face of COVID 19

Pune: July 7th 2020:  ``Service with a smile’’ is how Mrs Ritu Chhabria, Managing Trustee, Mukul Madhav Foundation describes her work as she engaged in a free-wheeling conversation with Lord Jeffrey Archer, the famous English novelist and a former British MP, on a Facebook live interaction.
Lord Jeffrey Archer, a prolific author, former politician, athlete and orator has been an active auctioneer since the last 40 years. He has been instrumental in raising millions of pounds for innumerable NGOs over the years. Mr. Amitabh Shah of Yuva Unstoppable has been at the helm and instrumental in hosting this online live interaction session for Mukul Madhav Foundation along with Give India. The platform was shared by like-minded individuals who have been in their own capacity at the forefront to assist the most vulnerable who have been affected by the pandemic.
When asked by Lord Archer about her work, especially in the face of the COVID pandemic, she highlighted a few projects that brought about immense satisfaction to her.
(a)    Mukul Madhav Foundation had under their care 986 children suffering from Cerebral Palsy and the lockdown forced them in their homes and physiotherapy was not possible. They contacted a local television channel in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra that aired the sessions. This was a boon for the kids and the parents were also educated on the nutrition and hygiene requirements of the kids.
(b)   The lockdown sent millions of migrants back home from the towns and cities. Once they landed in their native towns, they did not have the skill sets to undertake agriculture. The foundation quickly stepped in and provided them with basic farming training. This helped over 150 families.
(c)    The foundation is distributing food kits to over 1,000 widows living on the banks of the Ganga in Allahabad later this week. They have also assisted transgenders and sex workers amidst this pandemic.
In the 45-minute long interaction, she also explained to Lord Archer that the foundation has taken the lead in providing aid and support and was a frontline warrior in the fight against the COVID 19 epidemic.
In the ongoing pandemic, the foundation has been a frontline warrior in the fight against COVID 19 and has extended support to over 80,000 people. They handed over PPE suits, ventilators, disinfectants and other essential commodities to hospitals and organizations across Pune and surrounding areas
She concluded by saying that the pandemic brought about unity amongst the people from all walks of life and she is glad that there are so many people who support causes to uplift society.
