“Never thought I would ever pursue acting as a career in life” says GuddanTumse Na Ho Payega’s new male lead, Savi Thakur

The talented actor plays the character of Agastya Birla on the show

Zee TV’s popular fiction show ‘GuddanTumse Na Ho Payega’, has been a favourite amongst TV viewers with its unique and never-seen-before concept revolving around the country’s youngest Saas, younger than the bahus of the household she marries into! Having intrigued and entertained the viewers with interesting stories around Guddan and Akshat’s love life, the show is all set to witness a 20-year leap with the upcoming episodes showcasing a proverbial twist in the tale. After Guddan and Akshat’s tragic death to save their daughter, the latter named ChotiGuddan played by Kanika as well, is set to take their legacy ahead. Making a heroic entry in her life will be none other than Agastya Birla played by television actor Savy Thakur, the new male lead of the show. 

While Savy might have made quite a name for himself in the world of acting, being a television actor was never on the cards for this handsome hunk. The actor was destined to complete his degree in engineering and follow that path like any other ordinary individual. However, it seems like the stars had bigger plans for this man and they drove him towards the world of glamour. Back in 2015 post landing in Mumbai, the actor began his journey as a model and eventually landed himself a grand role in one of the most popular shows on television in 2015 itself.

Talking about his experiences, actor Savi Thakur shared, “I never thought I would ever pursue acting as a career in my life. I was an engineering student and had planned to become an engineer eventually. But some of my friends encouraged me to take up modelling and thus, I decided to give it a shot. I came back to Mumbai in 2015 with big dreams in my eyes and uncertainty in my heart. That is when I began appearing for auditions and luckily enough, I landed a role for myself in a show the same year. Thereafter there was no turning back. This is my third collaboration with Zee TV and I’m quite thrilled. Of course, there is a lot of pressure, it is always there when an actor starts a new project, but I’m keeping a positive outlook. I hope the viewers accept me wholeheartedly and loves my work.”

The leap is all set to bring another interesting and intriguing track between the young Guddan and the new hero of the show.  Innocent and clumsy, just like her mother, ChotiGuddan carries her mother’s name and holds a mantra of living a carefree and simple life. Having inherited great cooking skills from her father, she now runs a restaurant on her own. On the other hand, Agastya is a flawed character but also sharp and flirtatious and knows how to manipulate the world with his charm. He rarely seeks the opinions of others and believes in following the dictates of his own heart. Residing with a joint family, Agastya is a father to a 6-year old daughter that he had from his first wife who is no more.
