India, 26 March 2020: Everyone around the world is facing an unprecedented challenge as we try and battle this global pandemic. At times like this we truly understand the fragility of human life and the value we must place on our health and the health of the people around us. GoAir has conducted itself with a “Health and Safety First” approach, only possible through the discipline, teamwork, diligence and compassion of each and every one of our employees.
GoAir is fully supportive of the initiatives announced by our Honorable Prime Minister. In fact, GoAir was the only airline to respond to Prime Minister’s clarion call to observe Janata Curfew and we suspended all our flights on Sunday 22nd March 2020.
GoAir fully respects the decisive steps being taken by our Prime Minister followed by various state and local governments to arrest the spread of COVID-19. Although these steps will stop air travel until 14th April 2020 and impact the very purpose of GoAir’s existence, they are essential for the health of our customers, our employees and of our nation. Thus, Goair has temporarily suspended all its flights until 14th April 2020 to-and-from Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Bagdogra, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Goa, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Jammu, Kochi, Kolkata, Kannur, Leh, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, Port Blair, Pune, Ranchi, Srinagar and Varanasi, as well as international destinations namely Phuket, Male, Muscat, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Bangkok, Kuwait, and Dammam.
No sooner the situation improves and the government revokes the lockdown, GoAir will start operating its network to the fullest extent.
Despite these mammoth challenges and the consequent impact it has had on all of us in travel, GoAir has implemented the industry’s most generous customer rescheduling policy. We are the only airline in India that is offering protection to our customers even in the event of a no-show. No other airline in India has protected their customers in a similar manner. Our ‘Protect your PNR’ scheme allows customers to reschedule their travel anytime for 1 year from the date of their original booking.
- GoAir will protect all the PNRs for customers who booked themselves to travel between 26th March 2020 and 14th April 2020 as part of the “Protect Your PNR” scheme, wherein customers can reschedule their flights up to 15th April 2021 using the same PNR.
- Customers can redeem their ticket (booked between 1st March 2020 and 15th April 2020) on ANY GoAir flight on any date between 15th April 2020 and 15th April 2021 with no charges being levied (fare difference may be applicable).
- GoAir call centers will not be working during the nationwide lockdown period, but our customers can have a peace of mind as their PNRs will be saved automatically for one year.
GoAir is the aviation foray of India’s 283-year-old Wadia Group that comprises leading brands including 156-year-old Bombay Burmah, 140-year-old Bombay Dyeing, 101-year-old Britannia Ltd., 65-year-old National Peroxide Limited, the decade old Bombay Realty and many others.
