Observed on the Tritiya Tithi of Shukla Paksha in Bhadrapada, HartalikaTeej is celebrated by married women in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Rajasthan for the well-being and prosperity of their husbands. The auspicious festival is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati in the name of their holy union and is celebrated one day before Ganesh Chaturthi.
