Tushar Upsets 2nd Seed Ranjit, Storms Into The Finals

Mumbai: Unseeded Tushar Shahani did not let his U-19 Semi-Final loss affect him as he produced one of his best performance to defeat 2nd seed Ranjit Singh 11-5, 7-11, 11-8, 11-8 in the Men's Semi-Final of the Otters Club Vedanta Squash Open, Organized by 5 Sports, in association with Otters Club at their glass-back squash courts.
Tushar who was vying for a dual title fell short of defending himself in the U-19 semi-final against Saksham but Tushar recovered quickly from the loss and was back on the court in a matter of few hours for his Men's semifinal match. With Ranjit struggling to find rhythm Tushar dominated the first game-winning the tie 11-5. Ranjit came back strong to setup Tushar with long rallies and took the 2nd game 11-7 to level the scores. Ranjit fought hard but could not manage the intensity of the 18-year-old Tushar making unforced errors in crucial moments to win the 3rd and 4th game by 11-8, 11-8 and the match by 11-5, 7-11, 11-8, 11-8. In another match,  Abhishek Agarwal dominated his way to the finals taking down Sandeep Jangra 11-8, 11-5, 11-6.
In women's semi-finals,  Aishwarya dream run came to an end when Sanya Vats overpowered her winning the game by 11-7, 12-10, 11-7. In another match, Top seed Urwashi Joshi remained unchallenged she went past Radhika Rathore defeating her 11-8, 11-3, 11-6 on her way to the finals.
