Ambassador of Japan to India visited IL&FS Skills Centre for the first-ever Indo-Japan Intern Training Programme in North-East


The training program empowers aspirants with an opportunity for paid internship in Japan for a period of three to five years
March 5, 2020: A welcome ceremony was held at the IL&FS Skills Guwahati centre for Mr. Satoshi Suzuki, Ambassador of Japan to India and his colleagues recently. The north-east region witnessed its first ever Indo-Japan centre where Japanese Language is taught to students and aspirants have an opportunity for paid internship in Japan for a period of three to five years.
Officials from Oil India, National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) & Nemcare Hospital, Guwahati, were also present to grace the event. The ceremony was followed by an interaction session where the leaders across the verticals interacted with the students of the Technical Intern Training Programme (TITP). The interaction dwelled on topics ranging from the career prospects in Japan to the cultural aspects of the country and the technological phenomenon Japan has been witnessing over the years.
Mr. Suzuki emphasised on the importance of believing in oneself if one wished to escalate in their career and wished students success for their future. He also appreciated the TITP Project team for extending support towards this endeavour.
On his visit, Ms. Nivedita Barthakur, Zonal Head, IL&FS Skills, quoted, “We are delighted to have Mr. Satoshi Suzuki here inspiring the youth to build a strong career for themselves. Our association with NSDC have helped us in expanding our efforts and penetration of skill development in north-east India. We are glad to receive a warm response from the aspirants enrolling themselves in the first batch of the Technical Intern Training Program”.
The purpose of the TITP is to transfer technical skills, techniques and knowledge to contribute to the human resource development of India, and to strengthen mutual interests through corporation between the two countries. TITP is a significant initiative not only to encourage skill development for better employment opportunities but also to empower youth for greater social mobility and economic advancements.
Under TITP, the training focuses on providing Japanese language skills, geriatric aide along with Japanese cultural and lifestyle understanding to students. Young females with a Degree / Diploma in Nursing (ANM/ GNM/ BSc in Nursing) can enrol for this program.
IL&FS Skills has been facilitating skill training for more than a decade to enable youth to learn technical skills as well as jobs in India and abroad. The company is currently expanding its operations in Japan to send trained Indian candidates who are willing to work in Japan.
