The storyline of the
popular Kannada series, Jothe Jotheyali aired on Karnataka’s No.1 General Entertainment
Channel, Zee Kannada has broadened its scope to address social and
environmental issues in its script. This has not only brought the show
international appreciation but the creative team and channel have also received
congratulatory messages from several government officials.
Today, one of the
biggest challenges faced by large metropolitan areas is that of waste
management and garbage disposal. This issue was highlighted in the serial
adeptly. The experiment has been met with immense praise and has rapidly gained
popularity among the viewers. Many municipal officials all over Karnataka have
praised this attempt.
The workers in this
series have been given a fair share of voice in the script. A statement by
Aryavardhan stating that workers deserve to be treated with dignity and respect
has also been appreciated among the labour industry viewers. In its latest
episode on air, Zee Kannada takes up the issue of farmers in India. They have
written scenarios honouring the farming community, depicting them as the true
backbone of the country, referring to them as ‘annadaata’. The episode also highlights the need for their efforts
to be rightfully remunerated.
