Dwitiyo Purush Completes 50 Stupendous Days at the Box Office!

Kolkata, 13th March 2020 – National Award-winning director, Srijit Mukherji’s superhit cult thriller Dwitiyo Purush completed 50 successful days at Box Office today. 

The film had released across India on 23rd January 2020 amidst a lot of thrill and excitement and garnered a magical response, witnessing multiple Housefull shows across theatres. Dwitiyo Purush enters its eighth week today completing 50 days at the Box Office and will be running in Nandan and other multiplexes like Inox Highland Park. 

The story of Dwitiyo Purush, which is a spin-off to popular film Baishe Srabon, is set in two timelines - 1993 and 2019. In 1993, Chinatown, Kolkata - a gang war takes place between notorious gangs and quite a few murders happened. Police gets involved and finally is able to arrest the culprits. The entire incident gets covered up with political powers and influences.  

26 years later, similar incidents take place in Chinatown, Kolkata - from exact similar locations to pattern of murder - everything. The case goes to none other than Abhijit Pakrashi (essayed by Parambrata Chatterjee), who is taken to be one of the best in this area, after he solved the very famous Prabir Roy Chowdhury (essayed by Prosenjit Chatterjee) case in Baishe Srabon. Abhijit along with his assistant, Rajat (Gaurav Chakraborty), starts off with their investigation only to come to a horrifying ending and brutal discoveries. 

Elated about this milestone achievement, director National Award-winning director Srijit Mukherji goes on to say: “Just like Baishe Srabon, Dwitiyo Purush has got a superb response at the Box Office from day one and since then has been giving multiple Housefull shows.  I’m happy to see people still running to theatres to watch the film for eight continuous weeks! It’s the first film of 2020 to have achieved this milestone and Box Office record!” 

Directed by Srijit Mukherji, the film also stars Anirban Bhattacharya, Raima Sen, Rwitobroto Mukherjee, Ridhima Ghosh in pivotal roles and the music has been composed by acclaimed musician Anupam Roy. The film completes 50 days at Box Office today (13th March 2020)
