Mars Wrigley & Songfest Rope In Social Media Stars Awez & Zaid Darbar For Maiden Music Video Appearance To Be Directed By Punit J Pathak

India, 20th March 2020- Mars Wrigley in collaboration with music entertainment company Songfest, today announced their second single from music series ‘Doublemint FreshTake’.
The Hindi version ‘Tera Kya Hota’ is sung by Nakash Aziz and Geet Sagar whereas the Telugu version ‘Nene Lekunte’ is sung by L. V. Revanth and Rakendu Mouli and will be releasing today followed by a unique mash-up featuring both the versions. The music of both the tracks has been composed byGaurav Dagaonkar while the music video is directed by Punit J. Pathak.
The dance pop track with its bass heavy hook line and sprightly melody is designed to tickle your friendship funny bone. With an underlying theme of sociable relationships, the song imbibes ironic wit within its’ punchline "main nahi hota to tera kya hota" asked by one friend to the other.
Well known singer, Nakash Aziz who has sung chartbusters such as ‘Saree Ke Fall’, ‘Jabra Fan’, ‘Gandi Baat’ and ‘Dhating Naach’ says, “Dance numbers are my forte and this is a song my fans are definitely going to love. The theme of unity and friendship is also universal and I feel this track shall be a community driven anthem in the days to come.”
L.V Revanth, a playback singer who has contributed close to 200 songs in South India after winning Indian Idol 9 and thereafter working on films like Baahubali says “The idea of creating a song and a FreshTake in a regional language is fantastic. It was a great experience to work with Rakendu Mouli and Gaurav Dagaonkar. I found the song so catchy when I heard it, it took me less than an hour to record the full song in just a few takes!”
The music video will also feature Awez & Zaid Darbar, the country’s leading social media influencers and sons of music composer Ismail Darbar with whom Sanjay Leela Bhansali Bhansali has collaborated for several films in the past.
Expressing their excitement on their first ever music video together, Awez Darbar & Zaid Darbar state, “Our fans always expect something new and different from us, and this is the first time in 5 years that we both have come together to feature in a music video as brothers, which is super exciting. In the current scenario where the world is gripped with fear and anxiety, we thought we need to put out more inspiring and joyful content and uplift the overall mood of the social media universe. Apart from acting and dancing together, the FreshTake really for us is an opportunity to connect with our Telugu fans as well for the very first time. Punit Pathak being the director and choreographer was an icing on the cake as we admire his work.”
Famous dancer, choreographer, director and the Dance + & Dance India Dance judge Punit J Pathak states, "Audiences associate romance with me in general but I wanted to experiment with something more light-hearted and at the first instance itself I could relate to the composition and ethos of the track. In fact, the rap in the Telugu FreshTake has the most difficult rap to lip synch but the Darbar brothers pulled it off with the practice and shoot without any sleep for 48 hours, which is incredible.”
Adding on further, Yogesh Tewari, Marketing Director, Mars Wrigley states, “After the successful launch of ‘Aadatein’, we are excited to bring to our consumers another anthem ‘Tera Kya Hota’ and its Telugu Freshtake - ‘Nene Lekunte’. Doublemint is committed to our diverse consumers in India and Freshtake is a step in that direction that enables us to transcend the barriers of language with music that is enjoyed by consumers universally. Each of the song from the Freshtake series builds on Doublemint’s brand proposition of building connections. the new song celebrates the joy and colours of friendship in a humorous way, and we are confident that our consumers will enjoy it.”
Meghna Mittal, Co-Founder, Songfest and the brainchild behind Dwayne Bravo’s The Chamiya Song elaborates, “As a part of our music IP Doublemint Freshtake, our first music video Aadatein was a freshtake on romance and now with "Tera Kya Hota" and "Nene Lekunte" we are presenting a freshtake on friendship. As Songfest, it's our constant endeavour to work across diverse genres of music, collaborate with an array of artists and influencers to roll out engaging content for our audience and at the same time help our clients reach their brand goals."
