Rudra Kaushish aka ‘Vikas’ from Star Plus's hit show“Dadi Amma Dadi Amma Maan Jao” talks about his initial phase of life where he served our nation as a sub-inspector of the Central Reserve Police Force. Rudra started his career as a Sub-inspector in the CRPF and served there for twelve long years, before becoming an actor. Having a deep bond with the ‘Khaki', Rudra feels that our nation is privileged to have such hard-working armed forces who strive every moment to safeguard the country.
The Central Reserve Police Force is India's largest Armed Police Force and functions under the authority of the Ministry of Home Affairs of the Government of India. CRPF's primary role lies in maintaining law and order and counter-insurgency. It came into existence as Crown Representative's Police in 1939. After Indian Independence, it became the Central Reserve Police Force on the enactment of the CRPF Act in 1949. Besides law and order and counter-insurgency duties, the CRPF has played an increasingly large role in India's general elections. Of late, CRPF contingents are also being deployed in UN missions.
“My Journey as a Sub-Inspector was great. That was the time when I learned about the strength and power of our armed forces and their role in nation-building. It’s like a reality show; you have to be mentally ready every minute to face some of the biggest challenges and confront your fears. It was an honor for me to be a part of such a prestigious organization. I understand the kind of pressure police personnel are into and their passion to serve the motherland. Even after many years in the entertainment industry, which was my ultimate calling; the fire inside my heart to serve the motherland is still alive. 'National Security Day’, is an occasion that I still observe. On this special day, I thank all the armed personnel wherever I meet them, be it a traffic cop on the road. It is only because of their hard work and determination; we are able to have a peaceful sleep. They tend to travel far from homes only for the security of our nation. A big salute to them and their families. They are not less than the superheroes" said Rudra whilst commenting on his journey as an officer on his Instagram and Facebook profile.
"I would love to play the role of an armed forces personnel whenever possible, I have been fortunate to be a part of a cop drama with Aamir Khan in Talaash. My father in Dadi Amma Dadi Amma Mann Jao ( played by Mohan Joshi) is also a retired Air Force Officer.
I someday also aim to produce content around the life of police personnel" said Rudra as he signed off.
Rudra was last seen in ‘Kulfi Kumaar Bajewala' and was also seen in other television soaps like Aapke Aajane Se, Iss Pyar Ko Kya Naam Doon (Season 3), Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Balika Vadhu, etc. He has also featured in movies like Talaash, Bhadaas, Ranbanka, and Lahore.
