When Aayaam Mehta remembered his late father to enact a death sequence in Zee TV’s Qurbaan Hua

~ MadhavanandVyaasji of Zee TV’s Qurbaan Hua talks about the true challenge behind enacting tough scenes~
We see actors daily on our television screens, paving their way into our hearts by bringing alive relatable situations in the most natural manner. But ever wondered what goes on in their mind while enacting a rather tough, daunting or devasting scene? As the lockdown gradually lifts and Zee TV's shows resume shoots in a bid to reconnect its audiences with the journeys of their beloved characters, television star Aayaam Mehta who plays Vyaas Ji in Quebaan Hua talks about the reality that takes place while enacting a tough sequence.
The actor believes that acting is all about imitating, how well a person can imitate a character is what truly defines his craft.  Aayaam feels what enhances his acting talent is his ability to relate and relive a personal situation to bring alive a moment with authenticity on-screen. “Our work and talent at times requires us to literally step into the shoes of our character to be able to enact that one scene that would overwhelm our viewers,” says Aayaam Mehta.
Recalling the time when he had to relive a personal situation to be a part of a death sequence in Qurbaan Hua, Aayaam said “We recently shot a sequence in the show where my daughter Saraswati passes away and as her father, I am emotionally hit but being in a state of shock, my character freezes and is not able to channel his tears and express grief. The scene required an authentic emotion and at that moment I connected it to the time when I was a young kid and I had lost my father. Just like my character in Qurbaan Hua, I was emotionally blocked and unable to express it in the manner others did. Recalling that difficult time surely helped me bring out the sincerity required for that scene in a better manner.”
Aayaam further added, “At times, we might not be able to connect difficult sequences with our lives, but you still have to imagine that such a tragedy has happened to you and then the true emotions come out. Having said that, as actors we have to learn to not let ourselves get carried away, else it can affect you personally. It important to have a sense of awareness that those emotions are just for a scene.”
Well, Aayaam Mehta has surely won hearts with his method acting and will continue to impress us with his portrayal of Vyaasji in Qurbaan Hua after the show returns on Zee TV on 13th July.
