Why did Himesh Reshammiya get teary-eyed on the set of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs?

With the lockdown gradually lifting and people across the country stepping out into the new normal, Zee TV’s Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li'l Champs season 8 is all set to make a comeback, but with a fresh new look as Himesh Reshammiya and Javed Ali join Alka Yagnik as judges while popular actor and anchor, Maniesh Paul continues as the host. However, what truly makes the first episode post lockdown exceptional is the franchise's heartfelt tribute to the extraordinary Covid Warriors, India’s unsung heroes. Putting the spotlight on the various inspirational stories of doctors and police officers that have fought this pandemic, the upcoming episode of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li'l Champs 2020 will narrate the heroic tale of one such warrior that left Himesh Reshammiya in tears.

Dr. Anil Bahulekar, a general physician who always kept the doors of his clinic open to anyone in urgent need of medical help passed away recently after contracting COVID 19. Determined and faithful to his duty and profession, Dr. Anil had a secret passion for music and dreamt of auditioning and singing on the stage of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. Hearing this heartfelt tale from late Dr. Anil’s wife, Himesh was overwhelmed and left teary-eyed on his very first day as a judge on the show. “We will never be able to repay the noble work that he has done for mankind during such a testing time,” said Himesh, who was left numb.

In fact, Alka Yagnik could not help but feel the same emotions as Himesh did after hearing the stories of the other COVID warriors! She added, “Whatever he has done for the country, is way above all of us present here. This is a battle and the doctors are our soldiers. He is watching us and very happy that his wife could come and fulfil his dream.” It was truly an emotional episode, full of heart-warming stories and tales.

Dr. Sharmila Bahulekar (wife of Late Dr. Anil Bahulekar), whose son is currently living abroad, got reminded of their son after looking at Maniesh Paul and the warmth he provided her on stage. Maniesh even presented her with a Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs Golden Plate for her husbands’ noble deed.

She revealed that contestant Madhav Arora was her husband and her favourite singer and requested him to sing his favourite song, ‘PattharKeSanam’. Touched by the doctor’s story, little Madhav choked in between the song and broke into tears too.  

With the Covid Warriors in the house, the viewers will surely witness some inspirational stories along with some special acts by the supremely talented Li'l Champs. While Gurkeerat will deliver a spectacular performance on Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, Himesh Reshammiya will sing Tum Par Hum Hai AtkeYaara song. All in all, the upcoming episode of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs will have a lot of melodies, memories and surprises for the viewers.
