The Israel Antiquities Authority is Hosting a Conference on Recent Archaeological and Historical Studies of Ancient Israel

In this period of COVID-19, where public gatherings and International travel are limited, the Israel Antiquities Authority is pleased to invite the public to participate in a global conference on recent archaeological and historical studies in Ancient Israel.  The conference will take place between October 25 – October 28, 2020.

Over forty scholars will gather online to share new research and discoveries in the study of Ancient Israel, and the audience is invited to participate from the comfort of home.  While registration for the conference is free, interested persons are required to register for each of the days as capacity is limited.

Hear from scholars from all around the world, as they share the findings and discoveries from various sites all over Israel.  The experts that will lead the conference represent the Israel Antiquities Authority, Hebrew Union College, Hebrew University, Bar-Ilan University, Tel Aviv University, University of Haifa, New York University, University of California, San Diego, University of Nebraska, Duke University, Princeton Theological Seminary, University of Iowa, Wheaton College, George Washington University, Pennsylvania State University, University of North Carolina, Yeshiva University, Nyack College,the Israel Museum, Agricultural Research Organization, Volcani Center and the Weizmann Institute

Session topics include: Recent excavations in Israel; Religion and society in the Iron Age; New discoveries in Jerusalem; Urbanization between old and new Canaan; The united monarchy between image and reality; Science and technology; synagogues and churches; Judea and Israel.

This virtual conference is presented free by the Israel Antiquities Authority and the Friends of the Israel Antiquities Authority in collaboration with NYU Tel Aviv, NYU Global Network for Advanced Research in Jewish Studies & the Skirball Department of Hebrew and Judaic Studies.
