&TV :: Transcript Interview_Post Covid Karam Rajpal

“The recovery time away from this busy schedule was essential. I feel good and re-energized to be back on the sets.” shares Karam Rajpal aka Guddu from &TV’s Gudiya Humari Sabhi Pe Bhari

Karam Rajpal, popularly known as Guddu in &TV’s Gudiya Humari Sabhi Pe Bhari had recently tested positive for COVID-19 and had quarantined himself. After recuperating for 14 days, he is back on the set and ready to resume shooting. He gets candid about his road to recovery, new habits adopted, and what the audience can expect from the upcoming episodes, Karam Rajpal goes on to say:

1.    How does it feel to be back after recovery? Tell us about your journey to recovery?

The recovery time away from this busy schedule was essentialI feel good and re-energized to be back on the sets. It was sudden and not at all anticipated, but I am happy to start working once again. There were a few hiccups initially by the grace of God, the love, and prayers I received gave me enough strength to stay positive throughout this phaseI am thankful to my fans as they were there to motivate me, along with my family and industry friends.

2.    How well are you geared up for the shoot? Is there a lifestyle change you have done to build your immunity and stay healthy?

If there is one thing this outbreak has taught me, is to continue to focus on healthy habits and take the utmost precautions. Even though I took every precaution, I still contracted the virus. I am health-conscious, and I will continue to work on building my immune system by maintaining a good and healthy lifestyle. The onus of staying safe is a personal responsibility, and everyone should adapt to the unprecedented changes and challenges the pandemic has brought. While I have made it a point to mindfully not touch my face as our hands pick up a lot of germs and pathogens, I have also switched to drinking hot water as it builds immunity. Disinfecting and constant cleaning has now become my new go-to mantra.

3.    What is in store in the forthcoming episodes?

High-intensity drama and hilarity await as Sambhavna Seth (Mahua) makes a dhamakedaar entry and brings a boy who she claims is Radhe and her son. Witness fun bickering between Radhe and Sarla as she packs her bag and moves to haveli. Another trouble comes unannounced as Gudiya goes missing and is nowhere to be found. What will happen next, only the forthcoming episodes will tell.

4.    Tell us about your journey on the show from the time it started till now?

Our show recently reached a milestone when we completed one year, and that was one of the high points in the show. I joined the show a couple of months ago, but I feel so connected with the cast, it feels like we are a family. Right from learning the dialogues and mastering the accent to spending time with my on-set family, the whole experience has been great. I love what I do, and I consider myself blessed to share the platform with people who have taught me so many new things in life. The encouragement I have received helps me aim and achieve my goals.

5.    Guddu’s character and the show have worked very well with the viewers. What makes the character and show popular, according to you.

In the show, I had entered on the wrong foot with Gudiya, and we often fought and pulled pranks on each other, but with time, things have changed. Gudiya has found a friend in me, and we have started to like each other’s company. My entry created intrigue in the audience as Gudiya’s family was groom hunting, and I parallelly stepped in. And people have admired Guddu’s role, and I am looking forward to their continued support and love to me and my character in the show.

6.    Any memorable moment or your favourite scene or dialogue from the shoot/show which you would like to share with us.

One of the best scenes I had shot was when I laced Gudiya’s red velvet cake with chilli powder. It was nicely written and explained that I almost thought that it is an actual prank I am pulling on Gudiya. It was fun shooting for it.
