In
today’s time, our schedules have become hectic to a level where we do not have
time for ourselves. Mothers, especially, are juggling between handling the
house, the children, and their work. Hectic lifestyles leave them with
insufficient time for themselves.
In
such a situation, how about letting art step into your life? It is
scientifically proven that art helps you reduce anxiety, depression, releases
stress, and help you align your thoughts. You don’t have to be an artist to
enjoy art. Just go with the flow.
Here
are some major reasons on how art helps mothers rejuvenate and take a break
from their daily chores:
1.
Enhances creativity:
Creativity
should never be restrained. It does not have a path to be followed. Let loose
and splash all the colours out there. A free environment will enhance your
creativity and encourage you to inculcate art in your everyday lives.
If
you’re confused where to start from, seek inspiration from fellow artists. For
starters, you can try your hands on abstract art. Choose a proper theme or a
colour combination and splash your thoughts on the canvas. If you’re more into
making designs, try drawing Mandala art. Mandala art gives you a deeper
spiritual symbolism for observing the mechanisms of nature and helps you align
your thought process. These intricate designs will also help you improve your
creativity, provided you are consistent with it.
2. Rejuvenates mind and body:
When
your body experiences fatigue and tiredness, it isn’t just physical but mental
weariness. This can be due to various reasons such as - work pressure, meeting
targets and deadlines, household chores, taking care of the kids, et cetera.
Art - painting, drawing, sketching acts as a stress reliever and refreshes mind
and increases the blood flow to your brain, making the body feel more relaxed.
3.
Improves concentration level:
When
you focus on something that you truly enjoy, you will voluntarily put in extra
efforts to excel at it with every passing day. This indirectly helps in
increasing the concentration level, resulting in better performance in every
field.
4.
Avoids negative thoughts:
When
you focus on something that you truly enjoy, you will voluntarily put in extra
efforts to excel at it with every passing day. This indirectly helps in
increasing the concentration level, resulting in better performance in every
field.
If
you face a creative block, start drawing or sketching anything that comes to
your mind. Like a Mandala art or something abstract. Mandala art helps you
increase your concentration level as it needs attention to details.
5.
Bring out the inner child in you:
No
matter how old we grow, we will always have a child within us hidden somewhere.
Picking up hobbies that truly made us happy is much needed in a stressful and
hectic lifestyle. This won’t just act as a stress-buster, but break the
monotonous routine and leave you rejuvenated and charged up.
Take
out your canvas or a mere piece of paper and splash your thoughts on it. This
Mother’s day, promise yourself to spend some more ‘Me time’ and make sure to
inculcate art in your everyday lives. Here’s wishing all you wonderful mothers
a very Happy Mother’s Day.
