Vivekanand Education Society launches VES Civil Services Academy

Mumbai, 30th May, 2019: Vivekanand Education Society (VES) has launched the VES Civil Services Academy to train and guide students wanting to make a career in the prestigious Civil Services. The Academy’s training programme comprises an 8-day orientation module in which current Indian Administrative Services (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officers will elaborate on how to develop the necessary study skills and evolve strategies to deal with various aspects required to clear the examinations and emerge as a competent civil services professional.
Cracking the civil services is not an easy task and requires the imbibing of key academic and non-academic personality traits. The very fact that only a handful of aspirants successfully transition to a civil services career is a testament of the fact that it is the toughest exams in the country. The VES Civil Services Academy will focus on formal training to familiarize the candidate with the syllabus and help them in understanding the exam patterns,” stated Shri Adv Laxman Kanal, Trustee VES.
“Students should be encouraged and guided to enter Civil Services which is considered as a challenging and rewarding career. With the launch of the VES Civil Services Academy, we reiterate a firm commitment to honing the potential of promising candidates and handholding them on the path to embarking on a successful civil services career,” stated IRS Shri Ujjwal Kumar Chavan, Dy. Enforcement Directorate
“Maharashtra remains grossly under-represented in the civil services domain owing to a dearth of training facilities for potential aspirants. The VES Civil Services Academy is a positive step towards plugging this lacuna and helping students in entering various streams of civil services through the roll-out of various learning initiatives,” stated IPS Joint Commissioner, Shri Ravindra Shisve.
A candidate wanting to become a successful civil services professional needs to display a deep-rooted commitment to resolving the problems of the deprived sections of society, have empathy towards diverse communities and commit to making a positive difference to the lives of his/her fellow citizens.
A civil services career facilitates professional growth with the provision of healthcare, transportation and other added benefits. It enhances one’s societal status and creates sustainable pathways for personality growth and development. All the hard-work, dedication, long hours of preparation and study bear fruit when one sees a smile of relief, appreciation from someone helped and blessing from someone rehabilitated. More than the financial package, it is the elevated social standing which is more important. All the jobs coming under the purview of the civil services are keenly sought by aspirants but nothing matches in stature, position and value than a career in the IAS.
Students can register for the 8-day orientation module conducted by current IAS, IPS, IRS officers of the VES Civil Services Academy by paying a nominal fee of Rs.1,000 only. Classes will start from June 3, 2019 and will be held from 8.30 AM to 11.00 AM at VES College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Sindhi Society, Chembur. Students can log on to www.ves.ac.in or call on 022-25227460/25237088 for making further enquiries.
