Data for more than 25,000 Indian private companies added to enhance coverage and analytics in the investible universe
Mumbai, May 16, 2019 – Bloomberg announced today that it has added Indian private companies data to the Bloomberg Terminal, sourced from India’s Ministry of Corporate Affairs. Bloomberg selected these 25,000 companies from over 1.8 million private companies in India by narrowing down the criteria to those companies that have issued debt in the market. These companies have either issued loans or corporate bonds and they require an outstanding credit rating issued by one of the six rating agencies in India.
Bloomberg has included a number of standardized investment data on these companies, including financial statements, credit ratings, annual reports, shareholder information, and other key information such as the legal and bankruptcy history of companies.
“We are excited to be bringing richer data sets and analytics capabilities to sophisticated investors in India,” said Ashlesh Gosain, Head of South Asia Sales for Bloomberg. “Not only will these data sets enhance investing opportunities for current users, but it will be extremely valuable for private company investors looking to combine this with the Bloomberg Terminal’s powerful insights and tools. We will continue bring transparency to India’s burgeoning financial markets by enhancing our data offerings.”
