The
onset of monsoon brings about much needed respite from the heat. While we enjoy
the pleasant showers and warm coffee stepping out of the house becomes a
challenge. Water logged pathways and potholes make it impossible for us to wear
our favourite pair of leather/seude shoes or carryour favourute handbags.
However monsoon cannot stop us from being stylish and be upbeat. Hence, Nikita
Madhani, a Fashion & Luxury Blogger & Founder of

1)
Wear Everything Short:
Dig out your short dresses, skirts,
pants from your closet as these are the most convenient clothing options during
monsoon. Pair your mini skirts and shorts with tank tops of crop tops in solid
tones for great style and comfort. Everything short a safe and practical clothing
option as it saves from muddy hems.Rainy days are usually dull and gloomy so
one can always add floral or coloured prints to their wardrobe to brighten up
the surronding.
2)
Experiment with colours:
One can try and opt for bright
colours or darker tonesto hide rain marks.Bright tonesare a mood andpersonality
uplifter. Try loose tops instead of tight fitted tshirts. Crop & tank tops to
avoid rashes and fungal infections. Pairing bright colour tops with neutral
bottoms is ideal for this season.
3)
Footwear:
When it comes to footwear opt for
either flip flops or PVC sandals. Light Flip flops help in passing over
muddy streets and puddles. Most importantly, flipflops go well with all
outfits. My personal recommendation would be to try transparent sandals and
gumboots this season to up your style game and look chic as well as trendy.
4)
Fabrics:
One can opt for natural fabrics like
organic cotton, light weight silk, hemp as they have a high water retention
capacity. Light weight fabrics don’t make your skin feel damnthey tend to dry
faster. Avoid layering your outfits during monsoon.
5)
Bags:
This season is ideal to opt for
transparent bags. Transparent or PVC bags have been trending so opting for
it will not only keep your things safe but you will also be on point with
latest fashion trend.
If you’re not a fan of transparent
bags then opt for nylon bags in any vibrants colour or patterns. Vibrancy of
colours is very to vital for beating up gloominess during this weather.
6)
Makeup:
I strongly would recommend not going
heavy on makeup. Try getting your hands on waterproof makeup to avoid smudging
and washing out of products. Its very important to wear your sunscreen even
during monsoons. Don’t skip your SPF!
7)
Haircare:
Instead of keeping your hair open and
loose one can go for a sleek ponytails or messy braids. Due to the change in
weather, our scalp tends to get oily and flaky which eventually results in
hairfall and hair breakage. It is very imporatnt to take good care of your hair
during this weather to avoid hair damage. If your hair has become wet due
to the rain water then wash your hair and clean your scalp. Don’t tie your hair
when it is damp.
7)
Monsoon Gears:
Stepping out of your house without an
umbrella might not be a good decision. If you’re one of those people who like
carrying anything except your bag then go for rain proof jackets and long coats
in PVC. Remember to opt for vibrant colour as it will give your entire attire a
chic and on trend look.
