बोम्माई कोलू बद्दल:- नवरात्र दरम्यान दक्षिण भारतातील काही भागात ‘बोम्माई कोलू’ ठेवण्याची परंपरा पाळली जाते. हिंदू पौराणिक कथांमधील देवी-देवतांच्या मूर्ती विचित्र क्रमांकावर आहेत. मुलांना येथे पुढाकार घेण्यास प्रोत्साहित केले जाते आणि यामुळे त्यांना पौराणिक कथा आणि बरेच कथन समजून घेण्यास मदत होते. ज्या पद्धतीने बोम्माई किंवा बाहुल्या ठेवल्या जातात त्यास देखील त्याचे स्वतःचे महत्त्व आहे. ते भौतिकवादी पातळीपासून उन्नत अध्यात्मिक पर्यंत मानवी जीवनाच्या वाढीचे प्रतीक आहे. पाय life्यांच्या अगदी तळाशी, ग्रामीण जीवनाची सामान्य दृश्ये, मंदिरे, शहरे आणि ती देवांच्या सर्वात शक्तिशाली स्वरूपाच्या दिशेने चढते. नवरात्र आणि बोम्माई कोलू कला आणि संस्कृतीचे व्यासपीठ म्हणून काम करतात. बोम्माई कोलू येथे प्रार्थना करण्यासाठी भेट देणा्यांना देवतांसमोर गाणे, नृत्य किंवा संगीत वाजविण्यास प्रोत्साहित केले जाते. अशा प्रकारे नवरात्रीचा एक अविभाज्य भाग संगीत आणि कलेद्वारे उपासना करणे.

About Bommai Kolu:

During  Navaratri, in certain parts of South India, the tradition keeping the ‘Bommai kolu’ is practiced. Idols of the Gods and Goddesses from the Hindu mythology are kept on odd numbered steps. Children are encouraged to take the lead here, and this in turn helps them better understand mythology and the many narratives. The order in which the Bommai or the dolls are kept also has its own significance. It is symbolic of the growth of human life from a materialistic level to the elevated spiritual. At the very bottom of the steps the ordinary scenes of village life, temples, towns  and it elevates to the most powerful forms of Gods towards the higher steps. Navaratri and Bommai Kolu also serves as a platform for art and culture. Those visiting to offer their prayers at the Bommai Kolu are encouraged to sing, dance or play music before the deities. Thus making worship through music and art an integral part of  Navaratri.
