Bengaluru, 09 October 2019:Quikr, the platform behind leading transaction marketplaces built on top of India’s largest classifieds business, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Indian Institute of Management Udaipur (IIMU) to empower and equip future talent with knowledge on the emerging digital business enterprises and management concepts to prepare them for a fast-changing industry.
Through this association, Quikr will bring real-world industry exposure to the students who will participate in IIMU’s newly launched one year MBA in Digital Enterprise Management (DEM). Quikr will participate in student mentorship by conducting knowledge-based workshops on trending digital technologies, providing inputs to the curriculum structure from time-to-time and giving access to Quikr case studies and research material to hone their skillsets. Quikr and IIMU students will work on co-creating knowledge in the form of research papers, white papers, and an industry-level framework to do joint research in the areas of mutual interests. Quikr will also provide short term projects to IIMU students by exposing them to real-world challenges in the digital world.
India is already one of the largest and fastest-growing markets for digital consumers. With more than half a billion internet subscribers, Indian consumers have firmly accepted digital technologies. Adding to this, initiatives like Digital India and Skill India have given sufficient emphasis on the need to digitally empower the country. With this tie-up, Quikr will enhance IIMU students’ exposure to the nuances of digital technologies.
“I am quite excited to see this very first MBA program in Digital Enterprise Management by IIMU especially considering the future of businesses is digital. Our partnership is an opportunity for students to get a real-time understanding of how digital businesses like Quikr adapt and work on digital technologies making them industry ready. As a member of the advisory board for the program, I will extend my support to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industry practices, therefore preparing students for the real world,” said Pranay Chulet, Founder and CEO, Quikr.
DEM is designed to equip management students to develop knowledge and skill to conceive, lead, and execute innovative initiatives involving technologies and data for existing and start-up organizations. The curriculum, therefore, emphasizes on access and availability of data that impact prevailing practices and create new management challenges which require new kind of thinking and leadership,” said Janat Shah, Director, IIMU.
The Digital Enterprise Management Program is a full-time one-year residential programme. The first batch of the full-time residential programme is commencing in 2020. Interested candidates can apply online through the IIM Udaipur website (www.iimu.ac.in).
