Top seed Siddharth, Riya enter pre-quaters

Mumbai, 28^th September: Top seed Siddharth Bhuta who started his campaign in the 2nd round quickly stamped his authority with a commanding 30-10 victory against Om Pawar in the Boys U-17 category at the ongoing Gautam Thakkar Sub Junior Badminton Championship supported by Shyam Bhatia Cricket for Care foundation, promoted by Badminton Gurukul and hosted by Bombay Gymkhana at their state of the art badminton courts on Saturday. 

In another match, 2nd seed Pranav Kamble had a busy day as he won to back to back matches to advance to the pre-quarters. Earlier, Pranav produced a clinical performance and came back from a 7 point deficit at 8-15 to ultimately defeat his opponent Vedant Shrivastav 30-24 and advance to the next round. Pranav was back on the court in a matter of a few hours and showed no signs of slowing down as he rallied to dominate Chimay Udasi winning the game 30-20 to advance to the pre-quarters. 

In the Boys U-15 tie, 2nd seeded Harsh Sharma got the better off Parth Khandelwal 30-15 in the first round. Harsh dominated the game with jump-smashes that helped him to throw his opponent off the game.  Harsh later outclassed Salaj Megharaj 30-16 in the to enter the round of 16. In another match, Top seed Saransh Gajbhiye had no problems as he went on to defeat Om Pawar in an identical fashion securing a 30-16 victory

Meanwhile, Riya Vinherkar triumphed over Deepti Pillay in a Girls U-13 round 2 match. Riya had an easy outing on the court as she just stood and delivered the best shots in her kit to take a massive lead of 15-3 before the drinks break. Riya lost few points in the second half of the game but ultimately managed to secure a comfortable 30-11 win at the end.
