Young shooting star Mehuli Ghosh’s stellar win inspires India

Mumbai, September 27th, 2019: Finolex Industries Limited, India’s largest manufacturer of PVC Pipes & Fittings and its CSR partner Mukul Madhav Foundation, a Public Charitable Trust, celebrates India’s youngest junior shooting star Mehuli Ghosh’ achievements.  She has the unique distinction of being the country’s youngest athlete to win two world cup medals in shooting matches.  Finolex Industries and Mukul Madhav Foundation launched a video depicting Mehuli’s life to share a message on changing perceptions and giving hope to the next generation of girls in India.
Mukul Madhav Foundation’s initiatives include investing in young talent thereby contributing to the sports ecosystem in India.  The team helps create awareness of not just the athletes but also allied disciplines that are instrumental in shaping their journeys.  The main objective of Mukul Madhav Foundation in sports focuses on empowering the sportsperson by creating a holistic support system.
Speaking on the initiative, Mrs. Ritu Prakash Chhabria, Managing Trustee, Mukul Madhav Foundation said, “Mehuli Ghosh is a reason for our pride and joy, her achievements have been unprecedented in the niche area of her sport.  We are thrilled to support her journey and look forward to her long successful stint.  Seeing more corporates come forward and support sporting talent is a heartening sight. I stay hopeful of seeing more Indian athletes stand on Olympics and other international podium because of Indian corporate’s attention and support.” 
Mehuli is a 19 yrs old Indian sport shooter who represents India at international junior shooting championships across the world. Among 123 competitors, she was the only Indian shooting athlete to reach the finals, finishing seventh, in 2018 junior shooting competition held in the Czech Republic. Mehuli also won a silver in 2018 at the XXI Commonwealth Games held at Gold Coast, Australia. She has a world ranking of sixth; and ranks third in Asia.

About Mukul Madhav Foundation:
Mukul Madhav Foundation (MMF), was established in 1999 as a Public Charitable Trust. Today it is renowned for its charitable activities in Healthcare, Social Welfare, and Education.
Its collaboration with Finolex Industries in 2014 has strengthened and increased the spectrum of MMF’s work to the fields of Water Conservation, Social Welfare and Sanitation.
One of MMF’s groundbreaking projects was to construct a 59 bed state of the art Neo natal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Sassoon General Hospital, Pune. MMF also provides medical and financial assistance to the less fortunate in society who need various surgeries and rehabilitations.
It offers funding to educational institutions and also assists financially challenged students with their fees and living expenses. In 2010, Mukul Madhav Vidyalaya (MMV) an English medium school in Golap village, Ratnagiri was opened. MMF is registered as a charitable trust under the Bombay Charitable Act 1950. All donations are exempt from Income Tax under 80G Certificate. In April 2012 MMF obtained the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act Certificate (FCRA) which enables it to receive funds from abroad.
