Renowned Indian Flautist Pt Ronu Majumdar to perform at IIHMR University

Jaipur, September  2019: Premier Institution in Hospital and Health management IIHMR-U Jaipur is all set for this year’s Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music And Culture Amongst Youth (Spic Macay)Virasat Series, with flute maestro Pt Ronu Majumdar being the especial performer on 16 September2019. The ace flautist will enthrall the students with his mesmerizing bansuri performance and take the audience to a different musical era.
Ranendra Majumdar, popularly known by his stage name Pt. Ronu Majumdar, is considered the most respected name in the Indian Flute Playing of this era. When it comes to Flute, Pt. Ronu Majumdar is a style maker and has invented unique style of rendering the Raga, which has good mixture of ‘DrupadGayaki’ with ‘Laykari’. He is credited for making flute, a popular musical instrument amongst the youngsters of this era all over the globe.

Young generation hardly have time and interest to learn about the Indian classical music. Pt Ronu Majumdar is the encyclopedia of Indian classical music and we are honoured that we all have the good fortune to be a part of his live performance. He is actually a force to reckon with in the realm of Indian classical music both as a thinking musician and scintillating performer,” said Dr.Pankaj Gupta,  President, IIHMR University.
The much-awaited event will be inaugurated with a lamp lighting ceremony followed by the enchanting performance by the flute maestro, distribution of the gifts and mementoes to the artists and accompaniments and an interactive session with the audience.
The Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music And Culture Amongst Youth (SPIC MACAY) is a voluntary youth movement which promotes intangible aspects of Indian cultural heritage by promoting Indian classical music, classical dance, folk music, yoga, meditation, crafts and other aspects of Indian culture; it is a movement with chapters in over 300 towns all over the world.
