Sunny Deol, Karan Deol and Babita Phogat to be a part of 10th Jagran Film Festival in Jalandhar and Hisar


  • 10th Jagran Film Festival in Jalandhar and Hisar from 13th to 15th September 

New Delhi, 12th September 2019: After a successful run in Bhopal and Indore, the 10th Jagran Film Festival will be held in Jalandhar and Hisar from 13th to 15th September. The schedule of the three-day festival has been released. In Jalandar, the festival will be inaugurated by Dr. Satish Verma, multi-talented Punjabi cinema actor, anchor, writer and radio jockey, while well-known wrestler Babita Phogat will open the festival in Hisar. Besides film screenings, the festival will feature In-conversation and Q&A with actors Sunny Deol, Karan Deol and Kallirroi Tziafeta, Dr. Satish Verma and Inder Bajwa, supermodel and actor, in Jalandhar. In-conversation on “How Punjabi films are making pan India audience engagement” with Gaurav Rana, Priyanka Bhole and Puneet Channa, director and star cast of Punjabi movie “Rihaa”, will also be witnessed in Jalandhar. In-conversation with Babita Phogat and Rashmi Somvanshi will be held in Hisar along with the screening of the movie “Uri” which will be followed by an In-conversation with real-life army heroes on sharing their real experiences on the front.
10th JFF’s Hisar chapter will also witness a Special Screening of the movie “Chooriya Choron se kam nahi hoti”, a film by Haryanvi director ,on Haryana and shot at Haryana. “Chaar Sahibzaade: Rise of Banda Singh Bahadur” will be screened as the opening film in Jalandhar and “Tashkant Files” in Hisar. “Harjeeta” will be showcased as the closing film in Jalandhar and “Bunker” in Hisar. TVF series Kota Factory will also be screened in both the cities. Coolie No. 1 will be screened in Jalandhar to pay tribute to Kader Khan and Ram Lakhan as the Retrospective to Anil Kapoor in Hisar.

The world’s largest travelling film festival received an overwhelming response in Bhopal and Indore. The 10th JFF Bhopal Chapter was inaugurated by Bollywood actor Manjari Phadnis and Sharat Kataria, director of Film Sui Dhaga in the presence of Shri Ashok Singh, Cabinet Minister Ranked & Chairman of APEX Bank Madhya Pradesh. Director Sharad Kataria interacted with audience related to Film casting and his experience during the shooting in Madhya Pradesh. Manjari Phadnis shared her experience working in films like Barot House, Jaane Tu Jaane Na and also sang few lines of her song in film “Jaane Tu Jaane Na”. Indore inaugurated by Satyanshu/Devanshu, directors of “Chintu Ka Birthday” followed by their film screening and a session with QnA on the making of the movie with the audience ended with a wonderful response. Vivek Agnihotri’s In-conversation was cheered with a phenomenal full-house audience interaction.
Jagran Film Festival started in Delhi from 18th July and has travelled to Kanpur, Lucknow, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Patna, Gorakhpur, Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Dehradun, Meerut, Bhopal and IndoreThe festival will now travel to Hisar and Jalandhar through Agra and Raipur. The travelling festival will culminate on September 29 in Mumbai.
