Gumnaami song launch Rally

Team Gumnaami participates in a never seen before rally & launches the the 4th song from the film
The 4th song from the film ‘Gumnaami’ brings back the cherished INA anthem ‘Subh Sukh Chain’
Kolkata, 2nd October 2019 – The lead cast and crew of Srijit Mukherji’s much anticipated Pujo release Gumnaami paid tribute to the INA National Anthem - ‘Subh Sukh Chain’ by participating in a never seen before rally originating from Shayambazar 5-point crossing until Star Theatre in North Kolkata.  Accompanied by children in horse-drawn carriages, bagpipers, live band etc, the cast & crew paid homage to the statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose at Shayambazar 5-point crossing and initiated their march towards Star Theatre where the 4th song from the film ‘Subh Sukh Chain’ was inaugurated by Ranendra Mohan Roy, son of INA veteran Pabitra Mohan Roy.
Subh Sukh Chain’ was considered the National Anthem of the Indian National Army (INA) and is inspired from Rabindranath Tagore’s ‘Jana Gana Mana’ (Indian National Anthem). After Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose shifted to South-East Asia in 1943, he along with two of his generals Mumtaz Hussain and Colonel Abid Hasan Safrani translated the lyrics by Tagore and composed the song ‘Subh Sukh Chain’. Bose had asked his other general Captain Ram Singh Thakuri to compose music for ‘Subh Sukh Chain’ in such a manner that it would awaken patriotism and love for the motherland among his people. Thus, formed a song that was the National Anthem for the Provisional Government of Free India.

The song visuals evoke a sense of pride and unity as we see Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose (portrayed by Nationally acclaimed star Prosenjit Chatterjee) walking towards the Indian National Flag at the INA camp,  singing the INA National Anthem and the INA members all gathering around him to pay homage to their homeland.
Gumnaami is a film based on the Mukherjee Commission Hearings which happened from 1999 to 2005 where the three theories about Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's death were discussed and debated. It is a dramatization of the hearings where an investigative journalist supporting the 'Gumnaami Baba theory' locks horns with the official lawyer who supports the 'plane-crash theory'. In their clash, the 'Death in Russia theory' also comes up.
Speaking about ‘Subh Sukh Chain’ release director Srijit Mukherji said, “Subh Sukh Chain invoked a lot of patriotism and love for my country whenever I heard it and I’m sure it’ll awaken a similar feeling among my audience. Babul has wonderfully rendered his voice to the song in the film”
The Bengali version of Gumnaami starring Prosenjit Chatterjee, Anirban Bhattacharya, Tnusree Chakraborty and others is scheduled to release on 2nd October 2019 Nationally, followed by Hindi version release on 11th October. The music used in the film is the original soundtrack by INA & D.L.Roy and has been rearranged by National Award Winning music director Indraadip Dasgupta.
