Navratri Celebrations at Express Avenue concludes with grand fanfare

  • The ninth edition of the Navratri celebrations saw participation from over 28,000+ people 
Chennai, 9 October 2019: Express Avenue Mall, Chennai's award winning fashion and entertainment mall to celebrate the festival of Navratri organized ‘Garba & Dandiya Raas’ on all nine days at the central atrium of the mall. Various other entertainment & facilities such as mid-night food court during the celebrations were also made available for the patrons.
The ninth edition of this event, which has been a part of EA’s culture since its inception was organized by Express Avenue in association with GujRaj Cultural committee. Prizes worth 15 Lakhs for best male, female, girl & boy dancers were given to the participants. In the kids category, the Prince award was given to Harsh Bhatt & Princess award was given to Hena Jaspara. In the adult category, the King award was given to Ankit Dubal & Queen award was given to Nishi Soni.
The atmosphere on all nine days was electrifying with active participation of over 28,000+ people from across Chennai. The playlist included some of the most iconic dandiya & garba songs by the best orchestra troupe in town.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Ganesh CV, President, Express Avenue, said, “Navratri with itself brings a great amount of joy and festivities. Although pre-dominantly a north-Indian concept, Garba and Dandiya has gained immense popularity in Chennai in the last couple of years. We have been organizing Navratri celebrations in our mall for the past nine years and the response we have been receiving over-whelming response. It is indeed endearing to see people from across communities in the city come together and enjoy the celebrations.”
