Thakur International School- Cambridge Celebrates Navratri with Actor Rithvik Dhanjani and RJ Pritam Singh

The actor and RJ visit the school and plant saplings with students teaching them the importance of protecting the nature
Bringing a green twist in the tale, Thakur International School - Cambridge (TISC) celebrated Navratri by asking its students to plant saplings in the school owing to the growing global warming scenario and its grim effects on the environment. Navratri is about rejoicing the victory of good over evil, and that is why TISC chose this festival to make a difference. The school invited Actor Rithvik Dhanjani and RJ Pritam Singh to celebrate Navratri in an eco-friendly way. The celebs interacted with the kids who raised concerns and wished to know their opinion over the Aarey Colony issue and the Amazon fire issue. The children subsequently planted 150+ saplings with the actor-RJ duo.
Expressing his despondency about the degrading state of the environment,Rithvik said, “It is extremely upsetting to see how people are rampantly damaging the environment without understanding its consequences. Mother Nature safeguards and nurtures us and to return the favour we’re ripping her apart. It is the need of the hour to take steps to protect her – no matter how small the efforts may be, it makes a difference. The smallest step, the slightest effort, it all matters. This initiative is thoughtful and compassionate and I’m happy to be a part of it.”
Speaking about the initiative, Shunila Joy Chauhan, Principal, Thakur International School - Cambridge said, “The world is reeling under the negative impact of deforestation like pollution, soil erosion, floods, etc. all leading to a disheveled food chain. Every individual must be mindful of this and undertake everything in his/her capacity to curb this evil. As for children, they are the future generation and instilling these thoughts in their minds will make them caring, thoughtful, responsible citizens. We are pleased and satisfied that this Navratri we endeavored to reciprocate the love and protection Mother Nature has been providing us with and we hope to direct our efforts and underline all our celebrations to imbibe a community conscious culture among our students .
