World Tourism Day - No Internet, No GPS, No Smartphones, how did people travel back then?

Ever wondered how people traveled in the era of no Internet, no smartphones, no Wifi, no GPS, no technology? This Tourism day, let us look back to the time, when the advanced technology and smartphones were yet to be introduced and when solo traveling was just a term! 
It is just a decade since the advanced technology and smartphones were introduced, which changed the world drastically! Now it seems impossible to travel without even a smartphone, however, long back, people did travel without any kind of facilities, not just in India but abroad too! From one of them is Aakanksha Bhargava - A travel enthusiast and an entrepreneur. She has been traveling alone for business and leisure trips right from a very small age. She stayed in many different cities alone for a year to set up her business and build the team for her organization "PMR. By the age of 34, she already traveled to 36 countries and recently she introduced her own travel blog too!
