Hyderabad April 27, 2021 – The Vice-Chancellor of KL Deemed to be University, Dr. L.S.S.Reddy passed away today due to a cardiac arrest. Aged 62 years, he was associated with KL University for 3 decades.
Dr. L.S.S. Reddy was an eminent Professor in Computer Science and Engineering Department holding a Ph.D. in Computer Science Engineering from BITS Pilani. An outstanding administrator, a prolific researcher, and a forward-looking educationist, Dr. Reddy had over 35 years of experience in teaching, research and administration at prestigious institutes like BITS Pilani, CBIT apart from KL University. Dr.L.S.S.Reddy had joined KL College of Engineering (KLCE) in 1995 and proved his administrative excellence as a Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. Dr. Reddy was instrumental and a driving force as Principal (2002-2009) in promoting KLCE as one of the leading Institutions in India. Under the leadership of Dr. L.S.S. Reddy, KLCE has achieved remarkable growth on all fronts of higher education. In his tenure as Principal of the KLCE, the institute got accreditation of all its six eligible UG programs by NBA of AICTE. He was instrumental in KL College of Engineering getting awarded an autonomous status by University Grants Commission. His tenure led to overall excellence in academic, research, infrastructure, and systemic development of KL College of Engineering.
“KLEF Management, Administration, Faculty, Non-teaching staff, and Students deeply mourn the untimely and sad demise of Dr. L.S.S.Reddy. Dr. L.S.S.Reddy was a great visionary and an able administrator who has served our Institution since 1995 joining as a Professor in the Department of CSE and rising to Vice-Chancellor. The void created by his demise cannot be filled. We are extending all the support to the family of Dr. Reddy and stand strong with them in this unfortunate time,” said Er. Koneru Satyanarayana, President of KL University.
He had more than 110 publications in reputed International Journals and several paper presentations in International Conferences. 19 of his Research Scholars were awarded Ph.D under his guidance from various Universities. Dr. LSS Reddy was a fellow member of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE), a Senior Member of IEEE (Computer Society, USA), Senior Life Member of Computer Society of India (CSI) and Life Member of The Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE).

KL Deemed to be University was established in 1980-81, as KL College of Engineering, which was upgraded to KL College of Engineering Autonomous in 2006 by UGC, and was declared as a Deemed to be University in 2009 by UGC, MHRD Govt. of India.
